These truck scales feature a low profile modular design which is suited for installation on either a concrete slab or piers. The lightweight modular design with built in girder chairs and adjustable stands, affords easy addition of modules to expand the length. The portable model can be dismantled and loaded on a truck in a matter of two or three hours. Each module is 10′ wide, and the overall height is 14″ from the top of the piers to the top of the deck, while the clearance between the weighbridge and the slab is 3″. This can be increased very easily by using taller load cell stands. Each standard model is designed for 240,000 lb maximum load, with a concentrated load capacity (CLC) of 35 Tons ( Active Scales are 40 ton CLC). The truck scales have been examined by NIST, and meet or exceed all requirements of Handbook 44. Installation is fast and easy due to the lightweight modules which can be lifted with most end loaders and cherry pickers.
Load cells and Suspension:
These truck scales feature 120 tons Gross Capacity utilizing highly accurate dual-ended shear beam load cells. The 50,000 lb, 60,000 lb, or 75,000 lb tension mounted load cell assembly incorporates an exclusive dual parallel link suspension system with adjustable stands. The links are hot-forged, weldless alloy steel. The system is self compensating, increasing accuracy and repeatability. The load cells are inset 1′ 6″ from each side of the weighbridge, placing them on 7′ centers, directly under the truck wheel path. Each module has removable deck plates for easy top access. Load cell stands are fastened to the concrete with expansion bolts (welded to base plates on the portable) after the modules are joined , and the entire weighbridge is aligned. Each load cell is safely rated for an overload of 150%, and is available from many sources other than Scale-Mart.

The fully electronic system reduces maintenance associated with wear of mechanical parts. When maintenance is necessary, all electrical components are accessed easily through access plates in the top of the deck. The summing circuit boards which are protected in watertight NEMA IV boxes, provide for section balancing adjustments, side to side adjustments, and surge/transient protection. Protection is accomplished through use of communications grade gas filled diodes, which are installed between all input/output circuits and ground. In addition, each load cell has internal protection against surges and lightning. A lightning kit will be supplied with each weighbridge (scale). All wiring between the load cells and summing boxes is enclosed in conduit. All cables are stainless steel sheathed for added protection. The scale electronic system is adaptable to virtually all available digital readouts.
